Cookies and local storage
Version in force as of 1 October 2026. Version française
In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Why these mechanisms
The service uses technical mechanisms to maintain a session, remember the language, resume a rental in progress and provide the web application’s functions. These mechanisms may be cookies, browser storage or cache; their nature differs.
2. Cookie
- “pb_session” (cookie): authentication of agents and administrators, never set for a customer renting a battery. It cannot be read by the page’s scripts, is sent only to the site itself (SameSite=Strict) and, in production, only over a secure connection (Secure). Its lifetime is tied to the session configuration: by default 2 hours, renewed on activity, with a cap of 12 hours from the initial authentication. This duration is not that of the public rental.
3. Browser local storage
- “pb_session” (local storage), distinct from the cookie of the same name: allows a public rental in progress to be resumed. The application applies a resume limit of 24 hours; this logical limit does not guarantee that the browser deletes it exactly at expiry.
- “pb_lang”: remembers the chosen language until it is cleared or changed.
- “pb_host_intent”: used by agent mode to avoid inadvertently relaunching a payment operation; resume limit of 24 hours.
Old keys from previous versions (“pb_token”, “pb_user”, “pb_host_token”, “pb_host_user”) are no longer used; the application removes them from the browser when it finds them. No browser session storage (sessionStorage) is used.
4. Cache and third-party services
The web application’s cache keeps certain resources for loading and offline mode. It does not guarantee that a payment or a return can be confirmed without a network. Storage related to the payment provider may be used on its payment page; its own information applies to that journey.
The web application uses no third-party advertising or audience-measurement tools. Any addition of non-essential trackers will be subject to appropriate information and, where required, prior choice.
5. Managing or clearing this data
You can manage or clear cookies, storage and caches in your browser. Deleting them may interrupt a session, remove the remembered language or prevent an automatic resume; it does not erase operations kept on the server side.
